I guess you want to get rid of social security too, huh? Pure capitalism concentrates wealth. I'd rather live in a healthy society where medical bankruptcy does not hang over everyones heads. You know the difference between a Republican and a Democrat? The Republican can't really enjoy his dinner unless he knows someone else is going hungry.

You are missing the big picture of why society redistributes the wealth. Think of a tribe 10,000 years ago. The most important thing was to keep the tribe strong so it could defend itself and feed itself. So the tribe distributed the food. Some were great hunters, and some were great builders. Some were great at making tools and weapons and some healed the sick. If a hunter was not willing to share. The tribe made him share so the rest could remain strong. It took everyone being strong to defend the tribe. Today we are in competition with the Chinese. Our only weak link is our areas of poverty. If we strengthen them we greatly increase our collective ability in higher order thinking. Higher Order thinking is the new weapon we have to meet China head on with! So getting rid of poverty is pretty damn important to society. And the poor will dig it too-lol.
