If people cannot afford to live in the area, they will move to where they can afford to work and live. Unless you plan on the county to provide for those who cannot afford to live there. It is a shame that around the country many people have to sell their homes and move due to property taxes. I do not believe property taxes are fair to many.

I would confirm the data on the official government web site for the census, but that site is inaccessible because of the government "shutdown," so I'll have to trust Wiki on this.

Median household income in SF is $71K, and $69K for Alameda county.

Transit workers make an average of $76K, yet you think that's not a "living wage."
