Interesting and quite likely. However, as an NYC resident, I have to wonder about their figures listing less than 1/2 million for an area including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City, etc. Seems off, but I am not certain of their criteria.

Actually there is another article which makes clearer what they are talking about...........you will see that they are only including a sliver of NJ and a sliver of Brooklyn:

Those big urban cores now becoming quite unaffordable to most thanks in large part to Greenspan/Bernanke.. And we once thought on the old crash board that when the collapse occurred everything would normalize again. Scary it seems home prices now back to late 2004 prices already in many places. Not even taking into account Manhattan and in town Boston appear to have surpassed 2006-07 highs a while back. Needless to say busy buying and renovating while the prices are still dirt cheap in a few niche markets still left for me.. I'd have to be like Trump or Zell to compete in Manhattan these days<g>
