I know that you are just messing with me. But I am going to give you a serious answer. I think we all know that the "n" word is offensive to a lot of people. And so in order that nobody's feelings get hurt, the "n" word is definitely off limits. You would be banned from using it. However, we also know that the "n" word is common vernacular in the african american community and it wouldn't be fair to impose our rules on an african american who posted on the thread. Therefore, if you are african american and posting on the thread, it is ok to use the "n" word. Since we don't really have a way of verifying race in this forum, the rule applies to anyone who self identifies as an african american. There is a similar precedent in the native american community. Obviously it is very offensive to refer to native americans as "indians". However, if you go on tribal lands you will never here the word "native american". They call themselves "indians". And if you are doing business with them and there are no other white people around, you call them indians too. However, if there are white people around, all white people must refer to the indians as native americans. I believe we should incorporate this into the rules as well. I'm not sure if native americans find "redskins" to be an insult. I have only heard white people say that it is offensive. If anybody on the thread self identifies as a native american, let me know if redskins is offensive to you.
