I've mostly been doing FPGAs the last 8 months, before that full custom CMOS. I seem to be specializing in DSPs What kind of outfit do you work for Carl? I'm kind of interested in FPGA's and DSP.

Cable Modems... Was at Cable Show in Anaheim last week. I recall Barrons had a positive writeup on COMS 2 wks ago, said cable modems would bring in lots of profits... then COMS went from ~31 to ~36. Let me tell ya, there must be at least 12 companies making or having announced cablemodems to the newly defined standard. This is going to be a tough area to make a buck me thinks. Even CS is coming out with a modem... not in their current business. I'd say they're at the stage of grouping around for the next area to get into since growth in their traditional networking stuff is slowing down. BTW, what are the views on GTW. The market finally drops a bit and this dog is up for the week. Dammit, it's my only short! mdb
