Thanks all !!! I just came on this site for the first time to see if anyone could tell me about AMTD service. After reading the last thirty or so posts it seems that you all do and most of you are not very happy.

I sent my account application in on 11/28. After hearing nothing , I called them Mon. morning and after about ten minutes of being transferred and on hold, I finally spoke to new accounts. They couldn't find my application!

Called again this morning. Asked for "new accounts" and received recording that everyone was busy and the wait would be about ten minutes !!!

I am OUT before I begin! After the service I have received so far and after reading your posts I don't feel AMTD and I would get along. My only problem now is stopping my account at schwab from being transferred over (if AMTD ever does find my application)

How this stock ever got as high as it did remains a mystery. Certainly not because of its service...and service is their product !!!

Happy trading, Sailor

<<AMTD will become the MacTrade of the industry if they can improve performance and service. They are experiencing growing pains...>>

I agree. Heard lots of complaints from AOL users earlier this year, only from a LOT more people than I am seeing here.

Internet was VERY busy today. I was getting dropped packets all day long, and from every site I visited.

AMTD doubled capacity recently, and is doubling it again. They are growing so fast, and adding expensive hardware resources so quickly, that they are going to post a LOSS this quarter, despite fantastic revenue. Perhaps trading WITH AMTD is a bit painful right now, but trading AMTD stock itself is not.

Best of luck. I am happy to pay my broker $19.95 to execute a 1000 block trade immediately. That's difference in commission is less than 1/64th of a point and I get the price I want/expect
