When it deals with war, in a sense, but the central unit of competition is often much smaller, all the way down to the individual level, and the games aren't all zero sum competitions, many of them are positive sum, a few negative sum, all in all a different set up then a team or a sports league.

And yes there are rules on the producers, a lot of them should be done away with, but many of them won't be (or if they are they will be replaced by new restrictions which may be worse), but even if your going to have such rules (and you should have some rules for some areas IMO), there isn't a good reason to impose tariffs or "protective" import barriers in almost any situation.

Generally high level centralization of economic decision making ranges from sub-optimal to disastrous.

As for slave labor its not very common, typically not very productive at complex tasks, and in no way something that will almost always drive everyone else out of the market.
