You need to open your eyes a bit. What I see in my town (small, rural, ag based economy) is Hispanics frequently using food stamps (lots of kids) and driving nice cars. This is a very significant change from a decade or two ago. When I see whites using foot stamps, they are usually poor looking, and drive older cars in poor condition (not always, but generally). The Hispanics have the immigrant drive to them, both man and woman will work, and a fair degree of under the table pay goes on from what I can tell. But welfare services is energetic at signing up those who on paper need help, and the Hispanics are happy to get ahead any way they can. Its job security for the family services employees, so whats not to like?

If you don't start paying some attention to reality, you will be shocked at the polls one day just like Romney & Co.

The most obscene spending our government does today is defense spending. We could feed all our poor with what we spend on a couple of F-35's the defense dept doesn't even want.

<<<< give me a fucking break >>>>>

So when you use fuck we know you are really mad - got it.

Immorality and selfishness; is it immoral and selfish to try to wring the abuses out of corrupted food stamp people that often eat way better than those paying the taxes to finance their lavish eating binges? Is it immoral and selfish to make an entire country so disgustingly fat that it is an embarrassment? I happen to think it is fucking immoral to give everyone food stamps and that not even expect to have to pay for them but to instead give the bill to our kids - now that's really immoral!

The system is broken and the ideologues on the left would be wise to admit that. The winners are corporate agri farmers - corporate grocery outlets. The losers are working class Americans and our kids that get stuck with the bill. The losers are also those on food stamps who mushroom up and look like dough boys. Some morality you have! How about admitting something is wrong and change what we have. Give ANYONE who is hungry the basic foods to stay healthy; rice, bean fruits milk . Give it to them free - no questions about income so it isn't a stigma. But be sure it is healthy and something they have to prepare.
