Pat,

Oracle is THE database for the merchant billing systems, accounts receivable software rely on the stuff for their life's blood. Cash Flow!

Unfortuneately, Oracle has two problems, they can't seem to execute very well on new initiatives and they have nothing to do the bill payment piece.

We have a great history lesson on companies with deep pockets, industry knowledge and smart folks, who have failed to deliver a truly competitive payment processsing engine to CheckFree. I hardly think Oracle could create something this late in the game. As a potential competitior to CKFR, they aren't.

Oracle could be a great partner for CheckFree, they could link all those merchants to Checkfree's E-Bill, CheckFree could process all those payments. Both companies win.
