Yesterday I contacted SI about my 1997 issue and was told they had no records, although my profile clearly states the 1997 date I joined. I gave SI my $75 payment data from 1997 and asked to be reinstated to my proper designation, 'Paid Lifetime Member'. I will update as this situation proceeds. Thus far I'm still classified as 'Veteran'.

It appears many of us who paid for Lifetime subscriptions in 1997 or earlier have been re-classified as 'Veterans'.

You are not the only one in this boat. The worse part is if you insist you paid on the first occasion that lifetime memberships were offered, they respond to you like you are lying. It makes you want to never give them a penny.

Should we be making a mountain out of a molehill? The ads are out there bothering no one I suppose (at least not me). I glance at them from time to time and if it is something that interests me I click on it.

Besides, it does not matter how this SI management classify us. Let them run their business the way they want to. They have a right to do so as much as you have a right to go away if you do not like the way they do their business.

Just pick and choose and move on. Sorry for being this terse but we have larger problems to discuss on SI about stocks and politics.

I paid for lifetime membership in 1996 but changed my alias from my real name in 2006, and now my "member" status indicates I joined SI in 2006.

So I am not the only one? I complained for awhile to SI Craig but he made it sound like I was unique.
So, those of us who supported SI financially when the service was just getting started, and who have stayed with it all these years, get downgraded? This makes no sense. SI management needs to reconsider this.
Also, maybe they should do what other sites offer prolific, quality posters..... a share of the money from people reading our posts.
.
BTW, posting replies is REALLY slow.... at the bottom of my window it says it is waiting for various ad sites to load....

Duh..... who the heck clicks ads while trying to compose a post? BRILLIANT! I have to wait for this to load to post..... dumb and dumber....
