CO2 produced by the human population is the new Satan . It allows for the arrogant placement of human beings above all of nature. Liberals have for a very long time replaced or attempted to replace the efforts of mankind above the world. With the attack on religion they replaced their faith in the divine or nature with faith in government and soft or pseudoscience that can be manipulated the government. Once the culture here is destroyed, the replacement of government over God or religion is quite easy. What is not easy is understanding how frighteningly dangerous a god-like government can be.

To find the skeptics at a place like Oregon State, you need to visit the geology department. This is one of the reasons that the "95% of all scientists believe in AGW" mantra has bothered me. I deal with professional geologists on a daily basis and very few of them believe that the manmade made component of global warming or climate change is meaningful. Most have the view that manmade CO2 can have some nominal contribution to the climate, but they also suggest that we don't know in which direction or by how much. And these guys are real scientists who have to provide a valuable service or they get fired. They don't get to keep their cushy jobs once they get tenure.
