Tim, thanks for the HP article posting. Your posts are helpful. I am trying to bone up on all of this optical carrier and fiber stuff. I come from a telco background as a maintenance tech rather than an engineer. I have spent a while--though no longer--working on T1 lines and channel banks, and most of the terminology of optical is new to me. I am definitely a fan of companies like CIEN and QWST and LU. Don't own any yet though. (I do own a chunk of my company GTE). BTW, I noticed at the bottom of the article: Acknowledgements to Tim Bagwell. Congratulations. Martin
