Terence - could we/should we do away with shorting? The way it is, these professional brokerage house run up the stocks they have underwritten so they can get rid of them. Then because they knew all along that it was all a load of crap just for them to get rid of the stock, they know it is safe to short the stock. So they make money on the way up and down. Usually they have some cheap options they can pick up so they can safely short the stock

Perhaps, brokerages (and their employees) that participate in a company financing should be forbidden to short the stock.

The VSE may be forced to do something about this situation or become extinct as it could go down in the 500 range any day. And this to a great extent is simply a lack of faith by the public in the kind of company and practices that go on with the VSE, all brought out when there is a bit of a hiccup in the (gold) and the exploration sector.

Terrence, I recall reading a past post of yours saying that you were long bigtime on NDE. At the time NDE was trading at such high numbers the entire market was mesmorized by the Diamondfields discovery. NDE at the time had the largest land position in Voisey's bay. Much of that land you might recall was in and around the discovery area. The market was speculating that if any company was to be the next Diamondfields, NDE was the one. As a result a huge speculative premium was built into the shareprice. If I remember correctly, the shareprice of NDE didn't collapse overnight like Cartaway or Timbukto.

Unfortunately, NDE failed to turn up any decent numbers. That had nothing to do with Promoters, Insiders, or Brokers. It had to do with GEOLOGY.

There is no defence for many of the malpractises undertaken by this "unholy trilogy" of Promoters, Insiders and Brokers. This is why I believe the internet will play a role in levelling the playing field between the investing public and the "unholy trinity." The mainstream press, with the odd exception, has done nothing to educate the investing public in this regard.

Terrence, I wish I knew of a better way for real exploration companies to raise seed capital. It is really up to the investing public to empower themselves. The internet is perhaps one of the best ways.

Best Wishes

Surething

Hello Terence,

I agree with you that these guys hype the garbage at the little guy after the fact. The Canaccord daily letters are a market comentary of yesterdays news and events. If people read too much into this it's there own fault. Canaccord and Yorkton are the biggest PROMOTERS on Howe Street, No doubt about that.

I've learned not to trust either of them. In my earlier years, I too was caught up in all the Pump and Pagentary that goes along with Canaccord and Yorkton. I was forced to go long on alot of their so called recomendations. Yes I've paid for my education at Howe Street U.

The point I'm backing up is that there needs to be someone funding the next South Voisey Bay or the Greenland Diamond scene or the next Microsoft. I wish that it was alot more ethical!
