<Apparently because the company that owned SI at that time didn't provide the records
of those transactions. So how much would it cost for those people to upgrade now to
current lifetime status?>

which begs the other 4 questions...

1) how much would it cost for the company who didn't provide the records
of those transactions to upgrade those people now to current lifetime status?

2) how much would it cost for the current owners of SI to honor the integrity of
their members and upgrade those people now to current lifetime status?

3) who should pay for this mistake?

4) why?

I think I got some clarification from a friend of mine and SI reminded me about GO and the $199.00 lifetime cost. Legally, when one entity sells to another, the agreements they will look at the terms of the original members agreements as to whether or not they need to abide by them. I think that somewhere among all the change of hands, our "contract," which I never printed out or read that carefully, probably didn't guarantee us "Lifetime" for the site, but with that particular owner.

I'm fine with ads. Just give me privacy on the site. I guess we did without it before and I don't see the need to fork up another 2 or 3 hundred dollars to have it here. I'm just not going to click on ads from this site. That's the only difference I can see.

Here's my solution:
