<price went down when its earnings were at the highest and it price went up when its earning down--now explain this? IMHO, the only explanation is that the big investors are looking 8 to 12 months out.> Couldnt have said it better myself... these are cyclical companies! Look at the auto's in the early 90's... soared in the face of huge losses... late 80's they floundered while profits were pouring in. Currently semi-equip investors seem to be saying yes we will have a great year or two here earnings wise followed by a downturn. No one wants to buy AMAT here at what may be a 10-15 PE on 98 1/2-99 numbers cause a big downturn follows. DAK
