"40% representing 20% of the population can stop all legislative action. The founders did not envision this"

yes they did, they were afraid of the tyranny of the majority, Reid flushed 238 years of history down the toilet. Jefferson wrote this rule.

in 05 obama, reid and other dems thought the filibuster the greatest thing for our democracy.

it doesn't bother you that you are a hypocrite

The Founders did not envision an anti democratic US Senate where a determined minority could obstruct all nominations. The US Senate has been and still is our most undemocratic branch of Government. 40% representing 20% of the population can stop all legislative action. The founders did not envision this.

You boob! That is exactly what they envisioned....the Senate was intended to be a more deliberative body....it was intended to be distinguished from the House....it was envisioned to be another check on the growth of government and to slow down legislation....

The founders didn't envision the Senate filled with Senators that were voted in by the public via the 17th Amendment.

States should be allowed to determine how they want their representation in the Senate, I think many see that as a flaw today as it would be easy to recall them.

this is exactly what the founders envisioned. The founders wanted each state to maintain its identity and power with the federal government having a limited scope of power and responsibility.

the founders all believed that a hobbled government was a good government.

This is exactly what the founders envisioned so one group could not gain absolute control at the expense of the minority. It is set up to force compromise, even compromise of a minority. No compromise. No action.

Of course if someone was educated in Indonesia that someone might not of learned American History and would be unaware of how the country was founded.
