I feel so sorry for her. I am a very skeptical person, so I do not fall victim to these scams.

If I knew who it was, I would press charges.

That happens more often than you would think. Older people who are not on the Internet can be taken advantage of very easily. My sister was a victim and lost $5K to the "I'm stuck in London, got robbed and now I have no money" scam. Thought it was a friend of her daughter's, who wanted to keep it confidential because of the embarrassment of being robbed. Just send enough for a ticket home and I'll pay you back when I get there.

She wouldn't have recognized the voice because she wasn't that familiar with it, but this person had just enough information and was very convincing. Where did they get the information? Facebook. Everything you ever wanted to know about friends and family.
