Major credit cards protect you. I had my Canadian CC comprised 2 times in about 5 years, both times the unauthorized purchases were taken care of by the CC company. The CC card security department called me and asked if I made those purchases, I said no they said no problem and issued a new card. I buy online all the time with it, have been for years.

You don't need special credit cards, the one you are using should be all you need, see:

Not in the g.w.n. apparently [i'm BCian] ... not at two banks and a credit union i deal with, anyway ... and the issue of whether current management would accept them remains

Also the degree to which they can be used anonymously ... at which point you'd find out just how important it is to them to collect our personal info ... so different with Bob, he swore that soon as payment went through he wiped out all record other than the account it went to, and i fully expect he did, man of honour that one ... for sure Brad would have been the same, no problem there, sure wish he'd explored the alternative of a whip round among us here, instead of putting us in the hands of a Nevada corporation
