Your take on the Renaissance, as with other things, is way offbase. Maybe you should look into the transmission of scholars from declining Byzantium (under attack from the Ottomans) to Italy as a reason for the kickoff of the Renaissance, aided by the subsequent invention of the printing press. And perhaps you might find the rise of Islam as the reason for the dark ages separating the era of classical Mediterranean civilization and the Renaissance. The early Islamic conquests destroying directly half the Mediterranean civilization, cutting off the supply of papyrus, and subjecting the non-conquered areas to nonstop slave raiding, piracy, and warfare. BTW I don't spend 14 hrs on the internet, maybe you're projecting from your own practice ...... we know you pretend to be an active trader all day on other sites.
