12/13/13 Contest Update Once again, biotech Bulls were busy polishing their horns until late in the week and finally got back to work Thursday. However, the early week damage was too sizable to completely repair. And at Friday’s close the Contest median was up 58.65% YTD (vs. up 65.33% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 57.40% YTD (vs. up 62.16% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index ended up 32.50% YTD (vs. up 34.54% YTD a week ago). Our leader, RKRW’s portfolio, had an off week but still sports a hefty 164.28% YTD gain. Second place ROBO’s portfolio closed Friday up 138.63% YTD, while GHMM’s portfolio, up 122.19% YTD, moved back to third place. At Friday's close, 35 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 20 of the 39 still beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. Portfolio adjustments: None Have a safe & relaxing weekend biotechies!
