Hi longnshort; It's been a long time before there was a real conservative / liberal war in one of the advanced societies. Since then the left has become incredibly effete. We should have a poll here. How many people here have shot and killed an animal, and then butchered and ate it? Heck, how many people have gutted a fish?

I'm just so not worried about the modern left using weapons to take over the country. These are people who think ground beef is too bloody to eat. How many of them have been in a serious fight? I just don't see them changing themselves into even amateur soldiers. They're victims by nature. They can do protest marches.

Think back to the 1960s. How many police officers were shot by hippies? How many hippies were shot (or bayoneted or beat up) by the authorities? The very few hippies that did something violent were almost entirely ineffective at it. They made bombs and mostly killed themselves with them. The present leftist generation is even further separated from the real world of blood and steel. This is the underlying reason why they want to ban guns; fear and the knowledge of their incompetence at violence. They can't defend themselves much less attack anyone else.

P. S. I'm reminded of the Unibomber's critique of the left (and he was a believer in the ecological collapse of modern society but also a believer in the change of humans from the primitive type I'm describing):

And there's a fairly popular fiction book series on the war between left and right by Orson Scott Card. Here's the first in the series. It's fairly entertaining reading. (He wrote the book that got turned into the movie "Ender's Game", by the way, and is a Mormon):
