You know what would turn it up instantly? If the potus would accept that allowing companies to make money overseas and bring it back to the US WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL TAXES would allow them to pay dividends, buy back stock and pay higher wages to US workers... rather than ship more and more high paying R&D and manufacturing jobs overseas where they can spend the cash without the tax hit....

We'd get much of it back by taxes on the dividends, higher asset prices in pension funds, higher US salaries that would be taxed.... but we seem to have elected official who think success should be punished with taxation.

The sad thing is I've argued this for 35 years when I got my first summer job in Silicon Valley and saw they were shipping the low skilled, assembly jobs to asia... I left 20 years later when I was training R&D engineers from Singapore to do jobs I was training graduates from MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, etc. to do 10 years prior...
