"" Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people." John Adams"

He's exactly right, but you're an example of an angry, ignorant, right-wingnut who doesn't WANT to learn anything that conflicts with his Fox "News", right wing echo chamber lies. Every government on Earth is some blend of socialism and capitalism, including ours.

The largest branch of our government that is completely socialist is our military.

We all work hard. You seem to have no understanding of how democracy and societies work. Why do the smartest and hardest working people choose to be liberals and Democrats?

And take a look at the healthiest and happiest countries on earth, the Scandinavian countries and New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland. Those folks beat us in everything and they all have large governments, high taxes, universal health care and affordable to free education; and a wealthy middle class much better off than us.

They have few rich and few poor, but mostly healthy people.

Your path leads to the very rich making the rest of us slaves. We are 65th in the world in income inequality and half our population is near the poverty level.

It is your philosophy that put us there!

Obama tells Hollywood audience that "kindness" is his driving motivation.

He said, 'Kindness covers all of my political beliefs.'

"... And when I think about what I'm fighting for, what gets me up every single day, that captures it," the president continued.

"Kindness; empathy -- that sense that I have a stake in your success; that I'm going to make sure, just because Malia and Sasha are doing well, that's not enough -- I want your kids to do well also ... that's what binds us together, and that's how we've always moved forward, based on the idea that we have a stake in each other's success. And that's what drives me." He declared: "And, yes, we decided to fix a broken healthcare system."

So maybe it was empathy, maybe it was practical politics, but doesn't working to extend affordable healthcare to millions of uninsured Americans count?
