The same way 'some people' knew about December.
Isn't it true that the company never claimed
publicly anything concerning Dec? I may be
mistaken but I believe they have been saying
1Q98 all along, and they are still sticking to
1Q98. December was their own internal target
(which we here on this board heard about from
'sources'). They were never publicly that
optimistic. So how are they supposed to
tell you that December is no longer possible?

I share your concern, tho I'm also trying to
understand what the company is doing/saying,
and what alternatives they have.
It might have made a better impression if they
had made a positive re-statement that 1Q was
still their target when they announced Cal's
resignation, but I'm not sure. And I doubt
that ANYTHING they said about Cal or the
situation would change the market reaction to
his 'resignation'.

Not to take the companies position but just as
a 'naive' question, what would YOU say to share-
holders if you just fired Cal Reed? Assume either
that everything you're hearing on this board is
true, or that the real situation is a bit worse or
whatever. You're the spin doctor - how do you spin
this one? And why would that calm the market more?
