Thanks for the update. I'm dumping everything today, all my longs, and am already short the SP from Friday with a close stop, of course... Do you have a core portfolio that you don't touch or is what you post just your trading Account? I may be the oddball as I recommend pretty much how I have my own money invested. You are extremely open and generous with your time and advice so I though I'd ask. That is, when you say you "dumped everything" do you mean everything to where you are currently net short with all your investments? Why? I celebrated Christmas in Napa Valley this weekend at my brother's. We talked about some tech titans buying vineyards to build their own wineries and spending so much to make the perfect wine. My cousins wondered why they would do it if they didn't show a profit to justify the time and expense. I said it was nothing new such as when Jefferson and other founding fathers were referred to as "gentleman farmers." One reason I have this survey is to see how much exposure to equities most have. Some people trade and talk stocks but they are "gentleman investors" with most in cash, CDs, Munis, etc. even though they have talk shows recommending 100% in stocks to their listeners. Also, for some trading is for income where their capital is like an investment in a business. I'd expect them to have other money as investments widely diversified that they didn't trade... but I could be wrong. -Kirk out
