I do see your point. In the "ever increasing linear trend of CO2 related warming", how can record lows be possible? 113 year old record in Boston may fall this Friday if it drops below zero.

However, strong north winds with a high pressure system = strong south winds on the back side. Most of the eastern US will be above freezing from Jan 8-15. A nice thaw. Then the southern tracking storm comes along. Residual cold air dropping from Canada with a warm plume, that means the jet stream will support a severe weather breakout ~Jan 15-17 for southeastern US. I would expect tornadoes and straight line winds. Will that mean global warming, again?

Next week temperatures thruout freeze area 10 to 25 degrees above normal...after very, very unusual polar vortex size drop to USA...
