That put the pilot in the wrong place, NOT flying up McMurdo Sound. I suggest you learn how the accident happened. You obviously STILL do not know about the orchestrated litany of lies.

They had an Inertial navigation system on the aircraft. Back then that was required for "over ocean flights" and still is today. Look it up and you might learn something..

I'll give you a hint... Laser ring gyros..

My brother, an actual 747 captain at the time, did know precisely how this stuff works, unlike you who tinkers in a Cessna for fun and have learned a few checklists. I'll take his word over some guy in Cyberspace who doesn't back anything up, use reason or otherwise do other than try to pull rank as a winning argument. Sorry, but you need to come up with actual facts and reasoning.

Nice try.. I'm "Type Rated" in a few large aircraft. Look that up.

Maybe your brother can give you a few lessons so you can learn something about how aircraft actually fly and navigate!
