That's really not accurate.

What happened is that Nate Silver took the polls at 100% face value, and they turned out to be right.

The Right-leaning talking heads thought the polls were not accurately reflecting turnout because they weren't taking into account the Obama campaign's ability to get the totally uninformed idiots to vote.

Obama was able to do that, which is why he was reelected (obviously, no informed person who wasn't a left wing nutjob would have voted for him).

The factoid I love it that Romney had jetloads of people flying into Boston for his "victory party", based on what HIS pollsters were telling him! It turned into a big cry-off, as the actual loss occurred.
