OK --- Roger that.

As for me offering numbers: clueless.

Not sure I even have a method for my madness.

As for direction: bias to the upside [in my mind] but I'm flat the market right now [figure we've got more to go on the downside].

Recent trades (all made on Friday):

  • Long: CORN & RFIL
  • Short: AAP from $113.97

I figure one long winded reply deserves one of like manner so I offer here:

MY CONFESSION --- Last time I looked I counted 84 stocks in my portfolios worth ZERO---> representing paper losses (off the highs where I didnt sell) in the low 7 figures.

Conclusion #1:

I HAVE BEEN WRONG MORE TIMES THAN I HAVE BEEN RIGHT

Notwithstanding the pitiful confession above, I still have more than the $8k I started with after drawing out the majority of my income from trading for 14 of the last 15 years.

Conclusion #2:

Bad trades and stupidity were trumped by the trades that were good.

Preface to conclusion #3. As a follow up to the lucky vs smart I will tell you the story (many have already heard it -- and if you've heard it before -- forgive me for repeating it)

The most money I have ever made on a single day stock trade was around $86,000. I will try to make the long story short. I bot 10k shares of a stock at 22 cents and traded it up to ~ $8.50 where I sold 8k shares and held onto 2 k shares. Stock went up to $13.25 and headed back south.

One morning shortly thereafter I was booting up and happened to decide to look at a couple of accounts I dont actively trade. To my surprise I found 2500 shares of the SAME stock in a little cash account that I had also purchased at 22 cents -- only I had forgot that I bot them. Next surprise was even better. I looked in a seldom traded IRA account and discovered another 7500 shares, also bot at 22 cents that I forgot about. That morning the stock was dipping under $9.00....so........

.....I popped those 10k shares at ~ $8.50 and later in the morning dumped the other 2500 shares at ~ $7.37. In total I made around $165k on that single piece of shit stock that later went to ZERO.

Conclusion #3:

I WOULD RATHER BE LUCKY THAN SMART.

I make NO apologies to you. I am here for ME.... not for you.

If you have a story half as interesting as the one(s) I have, like FINTAS says: "PUT THEM UP"

if not STFU.
