Colleges are totally random which means everything is taught. and learning everything produces wisdom----the point of college is to gain wisdom,not fucking money!! For a guy who lost his nest egg playing Canadian penny stocks and spends the rest of his time smoking dope, gambling and hustling real estate that is quite a statement! All colleges do is teach facts and stimulate thinking. Like history and liberal arts. It forces people to read stuff they would not read like Newton, Plato and James Joyce and discuss it. And as they are the smartest people who ever lived the kids learn important stuff." Good Lord. Sometimes I marvel at koan's brilliance. Koan is the most intelligent liberal on SI. None of the others can hold a candle to him. He makes all the rest look like illiterate apes. Koan can spell existentialism, damn it! He knows it's The Key. It's all about compassion. Something only liberals have. Everyone should be liberal. Cause all the scientists are compassionate liberals. They know global warming is real and we're all gonna die without a carbon tax cause the arctic ice is almost all melted. And they know all about Plato and stuff too.
