Doc teaching me a new trading technique.....so in a way were together on this. Personally I've been buying CKFR since $11.50, but I've screwed up twice trying to trade the thing....it's doing a YO-YO as I call it, and I've only been able to average up my cost twice.....Even though I've made good money......doc's done much better buying on CKFR's Dips.......so I'm Following Him.

I have however traded my cost of Intuit down....so I think doc has defered this one to me...plus I've been following it for a few months longer.

If you want a comparison on the cost of online banking...go into

quicken.com

Go into 'Banking & Borrowing' select the on-line banking....you'll see a heading on-line banking rates, select that. You'll then see a listing of each bank who is offering on-line banking & bill pay and the cost, nationally. I'm not so much interested in cost, but who is comming on line.

As far as Intuits cost.....that's the price on an ATM in your home...albeit a 21st Century ATM. One which will connect you to everybody you have financial dealings with.

If you are reading both threads INTU/CKFR...you will see the news yesterday on AEP & CKFR. Checkfree is doing the Bill presentment for less than the cost of postage for AEP....round trip(presentment/payment)...it's my understanding that it costs some of these major billers up to $2.50 to complete that same round trip by paper. Multiply that $2+ savings by millions of customers and then on a monthly basis...and your talking big money.

The kind of money savings which is going to fuel the entire conversion from paper to digital. As an incentive to the customer it wouldn't be out of line for a company like AEP to offer me 50 cents off my bill to pay digitally.......if they did it drives my cost down.

It's an idea which has caught the eyes of Bill Gates at MircoSoft....he's pretty good at smelling out money. His only problem is the Banking Industry doesn't trust him......and he doesn't have nothing but vaporware at this point. Checkfree the creator of E-Billing has such a lead and long term contracts in the Financial Industry...that you could call it monopoly status at this point......now they are going for the big billers. It's going to be very interesting.

And yes I'd pay the $9.95 each month to Intuit...I get an inhouse ATM and they pick up 2 times the annual revenue they were getting out of me buying the annual updates. Wouldn't suprise me that they started giving away Quicken Basic for free here soon just to get customers for E-Commerce........just have to watch and see.
