The thing about Koos was that he had an excellent year in 1977, the year after he won 20, but was 8-20 despite a 3.49 ERA. He was 5th in the league in batting average against and 11th in WHIP. Then he had a pretty decent year in 1978 but was 3-15 with a 3.75 ERA. Then he fled to the Twins and won 20 games with very similar stats! The guy should have won a lot more than 222 games. Back in those days, there was much more focus on wins and ERA and no one paid any attention to WHIP and the other newer stats, so he definitely got a raw deal.
