"I won't even visit south of Mason-Dixon"

Your loss, your provincialism is keeping you from seeing some great parts of America. You're the flip side of right-wing nut.

Well , if we count the people voting with their feet--I win this debate. Ten to one was pushing the envelope though--I admit that.

It's clear you don't have a good fix on what NC is currently like--it's becoming a huge melting pot of Northerners, Hispanics, Indians, and our of state migrants. That is why we are purple--legislature aside.

That's pretty funny. But whatever floats your boat. I enjoy a metro area which has a higher percentage of phd's per capita than anywhere else in the U.S. Culture, history, great educational institutions, high technology, mild winters.
But being south of the Mason Dixon, I do hate looking out the window at the tar paper shacks . Spread the word. Get others to stay away too. Too damn many people have moved here already :)

P.S. I've lived in NC since 1981 and the only place I've ever seen a drooling redneck was in 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou.'
