Hiram,
By installing high speed modems now it keeps them from having to upgrade them later for the two way. Shant Hovanian projected end of 98 for two way. Would these modems also be useful for conference calls with video on a PC? All the video conference calls I have been on are jerky and not very coordinated with voice. Also takes special equipment as I am sure you know.

Hiram,

Have you seen the article, "FCC Under Fire For Botching Spectrum Auction" in the 12/15 print issue of 'Inter@ctive' ? It's not at their web site and will not be archived till next week. It makes some points about confusion surrounding the auctions yet ends with some(IMHO) positive notes. A Michele Farquhar (ex wireless bureau chief) is quoted as saying."Major players anticipated for the LMDS auction include, AT&T Corp., Sprint and foreign interests.

"We see LMDS as an outstanding opportunity to establish a presence in the U.S. market", says a rep of a Japanese consortium.."We are not alone in that perception, unfortunately."

Interest seems to be there.....

Comments form anyone who has also seen the article.....

Ed....
