"And he had control of both houses of congress when he took over as president."

No- he didn't."

I'll add a bit. Franken wasn't seated until July. Then Teddy died, then Byrd, eventually. Scott Brown was elected in Jan or Feb of '10. Anyway, he only had 60 in the Senate for 3 or 4 months, and one of those was Joe Liberman.

When he was elected he had a huge powerful army ready to fight the neo cons and plutocrats. The whole country was ready to fight as they had had it with Bush. What would have happened if he had continued his outside game. Really. That is the 64 dollar question.

Ron, we cannot guess what could have, or have not been accomplished. We didn't fight and worse he disbanded the best army and timing the liberals have had in 40 years. It was our window of opportunity and everyone was ready. He Gibbs and Rahm told the liberals to quit whining. The liberals who were right.

In 2012 Obama finally did what they said was impossible in 2011 and he won a smashing victory. His best victory. In 2011 it was impossible but in 2012 it was possible. It was possible in 2011.

I believe there was a window of opportunity in 2008. Despite the congress. But he disbanded the army and never made the fight. So we will never really know what could have been accomplished.

It is not as easy as saying he did not have the ideal congress or whatever. The people voted to fight and there should have at least been a fight.

People say stuff all the time, saying this was impossible or that was impossible. And maybe it was, but then look at some other stuff we can know about. Were Summers, Geithner, Gates and Sebelius really the best generals for the times. We know now they sure were not.

And why no prosecutions of wall street. He certainly had the power to do that. He has protected them form the public as he said he would. He has let every bank off the hook with fines that does no harm to any of them. they are so happy as they can continue to consolidate their power over us.

Those banks are more concentrated and powerful than ever and everyone knows they must be broken up. Is he going to leave that to the next person to fight? someone has to do it.

As mentioned look at a couple of things and how they turned out we can see. He extended the Bush tax cuts and it cost us another trillion dollars and he dealt away the debt ceiling in 2011. The liberals were fit to be tied.

He and all his apologists said it was the best he could do.

So the following year he refused to back down as the liberals and others were holding his feet to the fire and what happened. He slaughtered the pubs to the point they said they would never do it again and it started a fight within the Republican party.

But in 2011 they said that was impossible. And as recently as a few months ago he wanted to put Summers in the fed and it took a petition by 500 economists and 21 Democratic senators to get him to back down for Yellen. What was that about?

Then there is Richard Wolff's book explaining how he ran an outside game getting elected and an inside game once elected. Does anyone really doubt wolff?

All of that behavior has to be accounted for and I have never seen anyone do it.
