Mike, you are right. Again. If the public has the capacity to understand complex economic issues, they wouldn't go on with their love affair with stocks in the manner we have seen in the last couple of years. I still see notes on SI, pressumably from the guys who are fully invested, who are cursing the "traders." They claim that the "traders" who are selling now don't have the faintest idea about the long-term prospects for their beloved stocks. Case in point, Applied Materials: I see so many self-delusionary statements out there that it is unbelievable.
Some people have had gains, they are selling. Some people are concerned about the prospects, they are selling. Some people don't want their losses to mount, they are selling. Some people are selling short too. But, these are the guys that are dwarfed by the other three groups I mentioned. Yet, those cry-babies pick short-sellers to blame.
