<<Oh well, looks like after taking major losses to radically bring down my yearly
gains, I'm going to have to become a long-term investor now.>>

My girlfriend, a 25-year old blonde chick is not going to get
anything for Christmas after all.
I have an idea, I will give her the stock certificate of my
Oracle and Quantum holdings and she can use it as wallpaper.

I think I read it from one post either on this thread or on Yahoo. I personally haven't heard cc because I was on my way back home. I hope whoever said it is wrong. But I agree with you that "I think they couldn't have picked a worse time to warn and we
shareholders are paying the price". I think they should have said something much earlier when the stock price was still around $30, even if not so detail. And I am quite sure that they knew much earlier that they are going to miss the earning estimates. Why they have to hold until now? I don't know how about you, as far as I am concerned, QNTM management has no credit for me any more. If I can get out alive this time, I swear that I will never touch this stock again, not in the rest of my life.

I learned along time ago that you cannot time the market anymore. All you can do is buy good companies such as Quantum and hold for the long- term. Their are too many forces working in the market to hope for a short- term gain. I do not see anything fundamentally wrong with Quantum. Quantum will recover and reach new highs sometime in the future. It may be a year or two or more but it will recover. Anyone that needs their money before the end of five years should
not be in the high-tech sector. This sector is inherently volatile. However, over time the sector will return 20% gains. Hang in their.

William: This is from Briefing.com: "Looking towards the fiscal 4Q ending in March, the company
expects disk-drive shipments to be flat with the 3Q as the company is in
transition to a new product in the DLT tape business."
--------
I think I should say disk-drive shipments to be flat in March quarter.
