I'm also thinking that people telling others that they are considering ignoring you is a polite means of saying they are growing tired of the discussion as well. Yes, that's more polite than silently putting people on ignore. I wish I knew who my solitary ignore was :) How rude.

There are those who engage in conversation to share and learn, and there are those who engage in conversation to preach their dogma. When someone's opinions are intractable in the face of all evidence against them, then it's time to assume that there is an agenda behind them. What that agenda is we can only imagine, but what it isn't is an attempt to find the truth or at least get closer to it. Glacially locked into his own introspective analysis, he falsely pretends to entertain the opinions of others, so that he might amuse himself diddling them with his oafish views. I followed for awhile, but I kept going to sleep and it was taking me much too long to read the thread. I had to place him on ignore to stay awake. My apologies, Ryan, if these words seem harsh. It's just my point of view.
