OT.

This morning, I'm researching display companies, especially OLED. UDC has tons of patents that will make them money regardless of whether iOS or Android devices incorporate more OLED displays. LG is rumored to be making a deal with Apple for the iWatch displays. This would generate some revenue for UDC, but I'm wondering what they're ideal scenario would be, i.e., if they could pick and choose what deals are made, what scenario would benefit them most? Are you (or anyone else reading this) familiar enough with the display maker interactions with mobile device makers to shed some light on this situation? Thanks!

I dont understand your question. UDC licenses display manufacturers and has a short-term deal with LG Display to supply materials/IP. Presumably, LG Display will supply Apple with the flexible OLED's for the iWatch.

The iWatch isnt going to drive much in the way of display area. It will be the new television fab that LG Display is building that gets UDC a long-term license agreement.

More interesting to me is what happens with flexible displays in the smartphone/tablet space. Both LG and Samsung are moving fast in this direction and it is potentially the most disruptive hardware innovation to the iPhone.

In regards to your first paragraph, no. I'm not familiar enough with the display maker interactions with mobile device makers to shed some light on this situation. Sorry. … Nor do I enjoy engaging in hypotheticals out of context to current conditions. When projecting future trajectory, I like to start with the status quo and go from there.

As to your second paragraph, I know what your stated agenda is. As you can see by my quoted statement, I just don't believe it. I believe you have something to bring to the table. I just don't think you're doing it. You are simply baiting a feigned discussion in order to present your intractable views. Having presented them so many times, your answers have become monolithically established within a well defined framework.

In fact, I might conjecture that the unswerving viewpoint you project is perhaps due to some other factor than your very own opinion. You might be Asian, and you might be a well educated executive for one of the many corporations supporting and competing within this fine industry. If so, I complement you on your English. It is very good!

Oafish is an adjective that means clumsy. It is derived from a well used expletive usually shouted after someone breaks something, "You clumsy oaf!" Since technically a viewpoint can't be clumsy, it simply means in this context, misses the mark. I used it because in your scenarios you start your analysis with hypotheticals so deviant from current known values.

I might add that, even though I have you on ignore to facilitate keeping up with the thread, I'm getting a good deal of your content from the quoted references in the reply posts of your conversations.
