Yes, NGis far better than coal and far better on saving Western Salmon populations than daming more rivers for power. I found it interesting that on the SOTU the POTUS finally jumped on the NG bandwagon. My thought was "why so late?" as it is, as you say, a good bridge.

Also, the more we do to eliminate dependency on the ME, the less chance we have of sending soldiers there to die or return mangled.

What gets me is the actual solution is less people but nobody seems to want to promote that but the Chinese and we saw that leads to an unbalanced population with too many males.

Local politicians want to cram more and more people into over crowded spaces so they get tax revenue to reward their government employees that vote them into office for the lavish pension deals while they sell the quality of life of the current residents down the toilet with more over crowding, water rationing and higher costs for services from water to energy to supply all the new people.
