I think those behind the effort in operating the political agenda to foster a rapid transition surrendering freedom in favor of centralized control (obviously not including all of their dupes and propagandists) understand quite well enough that the science content of their propagandizing is total BS... and that the illegitimate political basis of it is an even larger pile of BS... But, I think they do believe that it doesn't matter what the BASIS is. Politicians are comfortable telling lies, and if they are able to succeed in their lies, if they can succeed in conning people into believing their lies, then they can con people into surrendering defacto control on the basis of those lies. Well. That is what politicians do. Of course, that process is not legitimate. The "science" isn't legitimate. Nothing about it is legitimate. But, then, seeking power through fraud, to wrongly exercise control over others... now or in the future... isn't legitimate. Freedom of choice... requires an absence of fraud... or choices that are made on the basis of fraud are fraudulently made. But, the Supreme Court has ruled already that politicians have no natural or legal obligation to tell the truth ? That means fraud still has to be weeded out, somehow, and it must be weeded out, by something other than the operation of law against liars... The media, clearly, have a role in a mandate that should have them always opting to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... whatever it is. They have an obligation in integrity that, when it is honored, provides limits to the lack of integrity in politicians. The media should seek and tell the truth, rather than cooperate in re-telling the politicians pernicious lies. But, we know in practice that they're team players, and work at advancing the team agenda, have no greater integrity, and are no more answerable to their calling to telling truth, than are politicians. We know they will agree to cooperate in telling the lies of the team whose interest they front... talking points intact... whatever the truth is. That's the common core, again: The politicians seek to use fraud in science, and apply propaganda about the science fraud, to con people into surrendering political CONTROL... Period. The last barrier... to totalitarianism... is freedom of speech... Without that... you will get what they want, and it won't matter if you like it or not... They want to craft a reason to have you agree to let them empower themselves, and eliminate decentralized systems, decentralized decision making, decentralized markets, and free choice as a factor in economics... in favor of centralized direction... which aggregates (irreversibly) to empower them, and only them. And, they will intend to eliminate all variation, including political variation, economic variation, and NATURAL variation in the environment... as a part of that agenda that has them seeking to impose THEIR right to exercise control. They need "global scale issues" as a canard to enable grasping for that scale in control ? So, they'll gladly manufacture global issues and make stuff up in order to create the pretext required to take what they want... even when that requires taking away your rights. That's what government has always done...
