Navigator/Communicator. I like it!

Huh? Sun will provide this feature on Communicator as well. I don't see how any of this shows that the ActiveX/COM stuff is so great. Besides, Communicator has the equivalent in JavaBeans/CORBA.

It might be too early to say anything about this new Activator unless you see it works. But theoretically I think Activator will gives a big impact to the Java world. Developers and testers now can focus on one JVM and simplify the developing cycle. And end users properly will be happy since the applet they download from somewhere should be fully compitable with the JVM running with their browser.

This is a smart move of JavaSoft. Microsoft is not in the right position to do the same thing unless they make all the cross-platform COM/ACTIVEX/AFC/VJ++ truely acceptable and valuable.
