Its the latter. I freely admit. I brought this up because someone was
saying that the stock is unlikely to fall because mike dell is selling
his stock options. If the stock were to fall, mike dell would lose
his credibility with the investment community(etc. etc.). Some kind of
reverse psychology!
I was just pointing out that CEOs don't always have such lofty motives
when they are selling stock. That often times the stock DOES fall after the insiders have sold(as in ORCL recently) and many other
companies in the past. I don't see shy Michael Dell would be immmune
from profit taking.
Also, Dell's future aint all that rosy. Just take a look at other
companies in the industry(HWP, CPQ etc.). People who think that Dell
is a class of its own, in a different industry from CPQ are deluding
themselves.
