Swift Energy Co. (SFY) - upped my position by 100% w/ buys today at $9.01/share
EXCO Resources Inc. (XCO) - upped my position by 50% w/ buys $4.75/share

Both companies had earnings this week and sold off to 52wk lows. The stories are compelling value buys IMO but operations require capital to drill wells, have exposure to NG and their huge depletion rates (that caused one time write downs to reserve values) but IMO sold off way too much for assets owned.

My exposure is still small in each position about 1% of the portfolio in each. I believe the risk/reward is positive w/ low downside and a possible double in value in the long term. I listened to the SFY conference call and management has two specific action items: (1) to complete sale of some land assets and (2) enter into JV for drilling partner w/ up front payment and cost sharing.

For me, both are better plays than these smaller cap E&P's I have been buying (w/ the exception of MHR).
