GE does their medical record system. I'm not that old, but it's worth it for me to take off work and fly up to Rochester once per year to get medical evaluations done in 1-2 days, instead of driving around from place to place to place over the course of weeks/months and having 3 different stacks of medical records. It's tough. I love mom-and-pop providers, they are small business owners. Certain medical specialties and reputable practices should do well, however I suspect clinics/hospitals will merge/buyout mom-and-pop places, establish more centralized medical record system, and move forward with better, cheaper healthcare. We'll see. That's my opinion, it's obviously not that simple.
