I recently got interested in this company after reading the article in Barron's on 12/1 which was really a 3COM article but mentioned @home. Would appreciate it if someone could explain how @home fits into the picture with the cable companies. We just got this service available this summer from Comcast after they converted us to fiber optic. So until I read the article I thought everything was through/with or by Comcast..not even knowing companies like @home existed. Comcast does the advertising, installs the modem, bills the customer(I think) and owns the cable. So I'm trying to figure out where @home fits in here. Does @home get paid by Comcast for every customer? I went to their web site and this wasn't clear to me.

I haven't gotten this service yet because I was told there are no modems available for laptops. But after reading that the speed is 100x faster than current speeds I am seriously considering get a desktop PC just so I can have this. I am going to go back and read all the 900+ messages on this thread(can't help thinking how much faster this could be if I had this service) so I can get caught up with what's gone on here but if someone could help with my question I would greatly appreciate it.
Melissa

Do you think this AT&T news can give ATHM the same kind of jump that the Cablevision annoucement did in early Oct?

A possible re-test of 30? If only the NASDAQ could stabilize....
