When the naysayers start to buy! If, for instance, you decided that Presstek was the perfect company to start investing in, I'd probably start to lighten up. Or if Pierre were to put a buy recommendation on Presstek, I'd probably dump every share I own!!!...and recommend that every one else do the same!!!

Seriously, I'll usually start to lighten up on the smaller, more speculative stocks when the mainstream market starts to follow them. Some stocks I never sell. I don't think I've ever sold a share of Coke or Philip Morris or GE. I started to buy Intel and Microsoft early on and have not sold any. I started with Iomega pretty early and wished I had sold some but still have not. I did finally sell AT&T a couple of years ago and am still not sorry. I don't like them morally! That'll make me sell a company too!

What does the term "long term" mean to you?
