Some States allow recording of incoming calls without notification to the caller. This is helpful in getting restraining orders against repeated
nuisance or harrassment calls and considered admissable. That what you were getting at Ron?

Yes you are correct a review of the wiretap statutes of the states
involved would be enlightening.

The federal statute for interception of aural communications is very
liberal and seems to dictate that the qualification for such an unterception is subject to the state laws and as long as state has
stautes regarding the interception or aural communications they may
be performed.

In most states any person is allowed to taperecord conversations
that they are a party to.
