We have far more oil wealth than Norway. The difference is, we steer the profits to the already wealthy speculator/investors, where Norway spends it on their people. Except for Alaska, anyway.

You are, I think, applauding the Norwegian "values" that form the cultural basis for their welfare system--and I get that part.

What you are wishing for, I think, is that the US had the same cultural basis to support a change in "values" which would lead to a different system. But our culture does not reflect those same values--so we can't change into Norway.
