No, I'm asserting that you make an assumption in your argument about the role of disincentives in shaping the behavior that leads to the rate of out of wedlock births (though I think you are much more troubled by those among the poor than those among the not-so-poor, an issue in itself).

One can debate whether the assumption is an empirical one and thus subject to research. Or it's a faith statement, something that all of us finally use. Which are just our beginning assumptions. If you believe but cannot support your statement, you should simply say so.
